PHP Vulnerability Measures and PHP 5→8 Migration Support

Can’t update, can’t apply patches, or it breaks when updated? We understand your current operations and support investigation, modifications, testing, and migration of servers and DNS.

PHP Migration Consultation and Quote

PHP vulnerability measures. Is your system stuck because it can’t be updated?

“We’re worried about vulnerabilities in PHP 5,” “We can’t apply patches,” “Errors occur when updating PHP,” “We can’t rely on the previous development company.” We work together from the investigation stage to migrate the systems that support your daily operations, such as order processing, payments, inventory, and customer management.

After checking the server, application, and actual business operations, we support migration to the supported PHP 8 series and creating a state where operations can be handed over. Support is available online nationwide, with a custom quote.

For the first inquiry, an outline is enough. Source code, DB, and authentication credentials will be received only after we confirm confidentiality and the sharing method.

To keep essential work from being left behind.

Even if you know PHP is outdated, migration may not be possible right away. Budget constraints, years of custom modifications, and missing documentation. On the other side of the screen are the staff and customers who continue to rely on that system.

We have also developed and maintained multiple SaaS products and custom web systems for clients, and have worked on migrating legacy environments and responding urgently to vulnerabilities. In the response we carried out in October 2026, we implemented pre-announcement configuration changes, WAF and monitoring enhancements, temporary suspension, fixes, and restoration.

We want to be the consultation partner that helps struggling businesses take the next step. With that in mind, we decided to offer PHP migration support as a service. We first confirm what needs to be investigated, what can be fixed, and how operations can be handed over. After assessing the current situation, we create an actionable plan.

Connecting PHP vulnerability response with migration from PHP 5 to PHP 8.

We also support inquiries from companies that need PHP updates or server migration following the response to the PHP vulnerability “PHP2shell” (CVE-2026-109618・CVE-2026-109619), announced in October 2026.

We separate the urgent decision of how to handle a site that has been suspended due to vulnerability response from the plan to modify legacy programs and move them to an environment where they can continue to be updated. First, we ask about the current public/suspended status and how your existing maintenance company or server provider is responding.

Mitigation measures using only WAF or configuration changes cannot be considered a resolution of the vulnerability. We investigate the target environment and confirm the necessary scope of fixes and updates in line with official security information. Legacy environments other than PHP 5, such as PHP 7 series, are also welcome.

You can consult us in situations like these.

  • You’ve been asked to address PHP vulnerabilities, but you can’t update from the old PHP 5 series.

  • PHP patching or version upgrades cause errors, and the site stops working.

  • Server renewal or the end of a maintenance contract is approaching.

  • You can’t ask the previous development company or person in charge, and there is not enough documentation left.

  • You have many custom modifications or old libraries, and you can’t judge the impact of updates.

  • You want to verify everything in a test environment before switching production over abruptly.

  • You want to migrate the server as well, but would like us to handle the selection of the destination.

Frameworks such as CodeIgniter and Laravel, CMSs such as WordPress, and custom-developed PHP systems are covered. The scope of modifications varies depending on the type and version, so we determine whether support is possible after investigation. For WordPress, we also check the core system, themes, plugins, and any custom modifications.

Consult us about your current environment and desired schedule →

We first ask for an overview, then investigate in detail after an NDA is in place.

What we’d like to know in the initial consultation

  • System purpose / URL: What kind of work it is used for, and who uses it. If it is a private system, you do not need to enter a URL.

  • Current environment: PHP, framework/CMS, DB, and server type and version. If you don’t know a field, “unknown” is fine.

  • Migration destination server: Already decided / want to continue with the current environment / want us to help choose one.

  • Desired schedule and budget: Reason for the deadline, possible downtime windows, and budget estimate. You may still consult us even if undecided.

  • Available materials: Source code, DB definitions, specifications, existing maintenance contracts, and the status of shared access rights.

  • Domain / DNS: Management company, person responsible for changes, and whether email or other services are in use. Detailed records will be checked during the investigation.

Before sharing source code or DB data, please sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA).

Before we receive materials containing confidential information, we confirm the contents of the confidentiality agreement and the sharing method. Please let us know if you would like to use your own template.

Please do not send source code, production DB, passwords, private keys, or API keys through the initial form. We will define the scope necessary for the investigation and provide access permissions and handover methods individually.

What we check during the investigation stage

  • Source code: Scope, repository, dependency libraries, and configuration files. Sensitive information is handled separately.

  • Database: Product/version, table definitions, number of records, and capacity. In principle, we discuss anonymized or masked test data, and if production data is required, we separately confirm the purpose and handling.

  • Server information: OS, web server, PHP extensions, batch processing, email sending, file storage, backups, external integrations, and more.

  • Domain / DNS information: The management location for the domain and DNS, name servers, record structure, and the person who can make changes. In addition to A, AAAA, and CNAME, we also check MX and TXT records for email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc.) and organize the impact on email and other services.

  • Migration destination conditions: If already decided, the configuration and constraints. If undecided, we support selection based on operations, cost, and management structure.

  • Operational checks: Daily operations, important screens/reports/calculations, external integrations such as payments and shipping, scheduled processes, and cases used for testing.

From investigation to production migration and delivery.

  1. Overview confirmation / NDA: We ask about the purpose, issues, available materials, and deadline, then confirm confidentiality and how the investigation will proceed.

  2. Current-state investigation / migration policy: We organize compatibility, dependency libraries, DB, server, and impact on actual operations. Based on supported PHP versions and support periods, we choose the migration destination. If the investigation involves a fee, we present the scope and amount in advance.

  3. Quote / contract: We provide separate guidance for investigation, modifications, server setup, testing, switch-over, delivery, and maintenance. We start after agreeing on the scope, out-of-scope items, schedule, acceptance conditions, handling of additional changes, and payment method/timing.

  4. Modify and verify in a test environment: We modify PHP and any necessary libraries/frameworks. We check agreed-upon critical operations such as login, order processing, payment, email, reports, and batch jobs. We also ask the client to confirm from an operational perspective.

  5. Backup / production switch-over: We decide in advance the final data sync, downtime window, DNS TTL, switch-over order and propagation checks, and rollback conditions, then migrate according to the agreed procedure. This is not a service that universally promises zero downtime.

  6. Delivery / acceptance / payment: We deliver the modified source code, handover documents for the environment, settings, and DNS changes, and the agreed changes and verification results, then perform acceptance. Payment proceeds according to the method and timing defined in the contract.

You can check the estimate and subsequent communication in the My Page area. Whether an upfront payment is required and the payment method will be explained for each project, and migration work will not begin before agreement.

Cost and schedule depend on “what needs to be handed over.”

Migration costs are quoted individually. They vary not only by the number of screens and amount of code, but also by legacy extensions, custom modifications, external service integrations, data migration, and the testing and downtime conditions required.

We first separate the investigation from the planning stage and identify which parts need modification and which can be kept as-is. If there are budget or schedule constraints, we also discuss the order of execution. Whether we can meet your desired schedule will be answered after confirming the materials and our availability.

New feature additions, redesigning the entire business flow, breach investigations, and ongoing maintenance after migration are quoted separately from migration work. If emergency restoration is needed or there is suspicion that damage has already occurred, please inform us first.

Not just migration, but a state that allows continuous improvement.

We are a company that handles servers, applications, order and shipping operations, and customer acquisition in-house as an integrated effort. In addition to ensuring things work, we value how the system connects to day-to-day operations.

Post-migration monitoring and updates, handover of maintenance for existing systems, and ongoing improvements can also be discussed with the scope and cost organized in advance. We look at migration as the starting point and consider the systems that will support your business going forward.
